W.O.W.

Welcome to “Woman of the Week” (aka, W.O.W.) These Women Rock! They’ve been there, done that and bought the t-shirt. Drop by on Wednesday’s and get inspired.

Outsourcing has always been a popular way to attract great talent but has had increased popularity over the last few years. Now days you can outsource practically anything. (IT, Graphic Design, Social Media, Customer Service and Event Marketing are just a few categories that make the top of the list).

There are so many reasons to outsource. One of the biggest advantages is cost. Outsourcing gives you the opportunity to get help when you need it and not have to carry the overhead of a full or part-time employee when things are slow.

It’s amazing how fast you can grow a business just by outsourcing certain jobs.

Recently, I read an article that featured Kim Pollard, Owner of the Bookkeeper Girl. Kim started her business locally in Denton, TX. Now, Kim and her team offer a range of services on-line for customers nationally.

Bookkeepergirl’s website is fresh, sassy and clear. They offer affordable, honest bookkeeping, online. Period!

One statement in Kim’s article stood out. “I don’t have time to doubt. You gotta’ have faith, believe you can make it and never quit”.

Great job Kim!

Keep crunching those virtual numbers,

Karen

What a miracle…

May 8, 2013

This week we celebrate three “Women Of The Week”. Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight. The brave young ladies of Cleveland, Ohio. Welcome home!

Thank you to Charles Ramsey the neighbor who jumped into action without a second thought. When interviewed, Mr. Ramsey said he did not want any reward money. Instead, he said “it should go to the families of the victims”. WOW…a true hero.

Here’s to hope, courage and strength.

Diamond Ring
Simply brilliant!

Sarah Pease, Owner of Brilliant Event Planning in New York City is this weeks “Woman of the Week”.

In a recent article I read in one of my favorite magazines (Fast Company), I fell in love with Sarah.

The number one thing I talk about with all my clients is the power of a “niche”. Differentiating yourself from your competition is a sure-fire way to stand out.

The wedding business is a $160+ billion a year industry and Sarah carved out a niche by making a name for herself as the “Proposal Planner”. In addition to coordinating corporate, charity and wedding events, Brillian Event Planning has become the go-to place for proposals.

Her services start at $500.00 for a proposal “blueprint” and soar from there depending on your imagination. Click Here to read the article in Fast Company about her $50,000 proposal.

Way to innovate Sarah.

Cheers,

Karen

Shine Bright!

Lynn Luu, Owner of Shine Nail Bar in Richmond, British Columbia is this weeks “Woman of the Week”. From the moment you launch her website you know she’s got an edge.

Here’s what I like about Lynn’s website:

A clean look and a clear message: “Get Pampered. Look Polished. Feel Fabulous.”

Right away Lynn answers our most important question…(The big “H”—hygiene). Go directly to the About page and it’s all about their hygiene practices.

Pictures speak 1,000 words. Check out the gallery link for pictures of her beautiful shop.

Services: Simple. Manicures and Pedicures galore! Plan your experience ahead of time by reading their list of services (packages and a la carte).

Schedule: easy-peezy. Click on the appointment link and secure a time slot.

Congratulations Lynn.

I give you two well manicured thumbs up!

Cheers,

K

CHAOS is good!

April 3, 2013

chaos imageLesley Sarkesian, the Armenian-American, single mother of two is the powerhouse behind “CHAOS ON THE ROCKS” the delicous twist + serve, low-calorie, low carb vodka cocktail.

I recently read an article on her and was intrigued to visit the CHAOS website to learn a little more. (I hadn’t heard of the brand prior to last month). Lesley’s story is as efforvescent as her twist + serve cocktails!

The takeaway:

1. It’s never too late to start: Lesley took the leap in 2011 and launched the CHAOS brand. Years after she invented the product in her kitchen.

2. Add value: Connect the benefits of your brand to your customer’s lifestyle. Convenient, delicious and healthier.

3. Give back: CHAOS is phillanthropic. Their message is as clear as their label. The American Diabetes Assocciation (ADA) is near and dear to Lesley’s heart and it shows. They work with the ADA in every city they launch in.

Visit the CHAOS website and get inspired! (and thirsty…)

Way to shake up the market Lesley!

Cheers,

Karen
